As a little kid I had a secret that I never told;
A special prize all my own that I never showed;
I wanted to keep it to myself but time continued by;
So I showed my prize to the world at first a little shy;
But my prize then blew away as if the string were cut;
If only I had never spoke and my mouth stayed shut;
Then unlike a cut balloon it wouldn’t blow away;
It never would had a reason to anything but stay;
But my prize was so much more than just a prize for me;
It was a prize so beautiful the world just had to see;
So as my prize floated away just past my fingertips;
I watched it leave with a final goodbye found upon my lips;
It looked so happy way up there floating towards the sun;
And now I see that for it, life has finally begun;
I’m happy the world can see my prize but I’m sad it has to go;
Please just remember me when you look below;
So my sister, my special prize, how’s it with the sun;
Is he nice, is he sweet, are you having fun;
Sometimes do you still look back before I let you go;
Sometimes do you miss me too when you look below?
