The Princess

This princess has been stabbed and beat;

With broken glass beneath her feet;

This princess has been loathed and lost;

Forgetful of forgivings cost;

She gave and gave ‘til she ran dry;

Forgiving every hurtful lie;

This princess forgot times she wanted to die;

Believing only in every pretty lie;

Now left bloodied and alone;

With hateful cuts down to the bone;

She dropped to her knees and hung her head;

As another tear her water eyes shed;

‘Take me now’ she cried and plead;

As she watched her once friends fled;

So alone and out of breath;

She reached for the comforting touch of death;

But death left her too without a hope;

And no way for her to cope;

So she sought out dragon and beast;

To find a way to hurt the least;

She looked for danger to cause harm;

Through something other than her own arm
