There was a silence encircling the sound;
As her body crashed against the ground;
A breath still caught in her lungs;
Quieting the clicking tongues;
She heard the cracks from beneath;
But no scream passed through her teeth;
No words here to describe the sight;
Of a lonely girl lost to the fight;
Lost to the standards they set too high;
To the honest men that taught her to lie;
To the ones who were the meaning of her pain;
To those covering up her sunlight in their rain;
There she was sold without cost;
She was innocence lost
