The moon had looked so different that night;
Full of life and growing with might;
Every side was encased with a star;
So beautiful but so very far;
Lifting my fingers I reached for the light,
That showered my world with its color so bright;
For a second I saw a star fly by;
So I made a wish Incase I should die;
I sent a prayer of longing and love;
Up and up to the stars above;
I asked if maybe they could send me a star;
Just to prove that they’re all that they are;
Give me a wishing star so I can pray;
A simple wish to get me through the day;
Silent and humble I won’t ask for more;
I will never again coming begging at your door;
All that I ask is to be able to live and love;
Just as intensely as the galaxy above;
So cover me in stardust and help me believe;
In your magic you hide up your sleeve;
So I waited and waited for my star to come;
Waiting and waiting till my fingers went numb;
Perhaps I was too greedy asking for too much;
Relying on the power of stars to become my crutch;
Because that day my wishing star never came;
Leaving me on my own just waiting for a starry flame
